Typically to be able to sit for the GED exam the test taker must be at least 17 years old. The GED testing cost in the state of Ohio typically varies from $40 to $90.

The GED exam consists of five tests: language arts (reading), language arts (writing), mathematics, science and social studies. Each section of the test awards a score between 200 and 800. Many states require test takers to get a score of 410 on each of the five sections and an average of 450 for the GED test to pass.
